JOB SUMMARY:
Harrisburg School District seeks a forward-thinking Director of Technology to lead and shape technology across our schools. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in a close-knit student-centered district with a flexible work calendar. The Director oversees the development implementation and support of all district technology systemsincluding infrastructure devices instructional tools and long-range planningserving as both a strategic leader and hands-on problem solver to ensure systems are secure efficient and future-ready.
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
- Network architecture and management
- Microsoft Server VMware environments
- Google Workspace and Microsoft 365
- MDM tools (JAMF or similar)
- Meraki or similar networking systems
- Windows ChromeOS and iOS environments
- LMS platforms and instructional technology
- Cybersecurity backups and system redundancy
- VOIP systems cameras and access control
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned.
- Lead district technology planning purchasing and implementation
- Maintain and support networks servers devices and software systems
- Oversee cybersecurity user access and data systems
- Provide training and support for staff across all programs
- Manage infrastructure including VOIP security cameras and access systems
- Coordinate with ESD and external vendors
- Maintain inventory licensing and system documentation
- Support instructional technology and classroom systems
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices
- Attends work regularly and is punctual.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors degree in IT Computer Science or related field
- Experience in network administration or a similar role
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users
- Self-direction organization and adaptability
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to supporting schools
