Associate Chemical Technologies Engineer

Company:

Boeing Commercial Airplanes Materials & Processes (BCA M&P) is seeking an Associate Chemical Technologies Engineer for the 787 Wing & Empennage Engineering Support Team in North Charleston SC.

Primary Responsibilities

• Define engineering requirements and select or recommend parts materials processes manufacturing technologies machinery tools and automation systems to support product design and manufacturing in accordance with contractual and regulatory obligations.

• Plan and execute qualification activities for new materials parts processes and suppliers including test programs and audits.

• Perform failure and performance analyses of tools materials parts or processes to identify root causes and recommend corrective or preventive actions.

• Manage test programs supplier qualifications and related documentation to ensure compliance with program requirements.

• Apply project management tools to meet cost technical and schedule objectives for assigned tasks and projects.

• Integrate environmental health and safety LEAN and Quality principles into materials/process design research and qualification procedures and laboratory/office operations.

• Collaborate with design manufacturing quality suppliers and other engineering teams to support product development and production readiness.

• Maintain technical records specifications and reports to support audits certifications and continuous improvement efforts.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology) Computer Science Data Science Mathematics Physics Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

• 1 years experience in Engineering and Manufacturing environment

• Experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications related to chemical finishes and corrosion protection for aerospace applications

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Experience with aerospace organic and inorganic finishes

• Experience with aerospace chemical coating technology

• Experience with chemical coating material qualification

• Experience analytical lab practices (FTIR GCMS environmental testing)

• Excellent problem-solving communication and teamwork skills
