The Boeing CompanyBoeing Commercial Airplanes Materials & Processes (BCA M&P) is seeking an Associate Chemical Technologies Engineer for the 787 Wing & Empennage Engineering Support Team in North Charleston SC.
Primary Responsibilities
Define engineering requirements and select or recommend parts materials processes manufacturing technologies machinery tools and automation systems to support product design and manufacturing in accordance with contractual and regulatory obligations.
Plan and execute qualification activities for new materials parts processes and suppliers including test programs and audits.
Perform failure and performance analyses of tools materials parts or processes to identify root causes and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
Manage test programs supplier qualifications and related documentation to ensure compliance with program requirements.
Apply project management tools to meet cost technical and schedule objectives for assigned tasks and projects.
Integrate environmental health and safety LEAN and Quality principles into materials/process design research and qualification procedures and laboratory/office operations.
Collaborate with design manufacturing quality suppliers and other engineering teams to support product development and production readiness.
Maintain technical records specifications and reports to support audits certifications and continuous improvement efforts.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology) Computer Science Data Science Mathematics Physics Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
1 years experience in Engineering and Manufacturing environment
Experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications related to chemical finishes and corrosion protection for aerospace applications
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with aerospace organic and inorganic finishes
Experience with aerospace chemical coating technology
Experience with chemical coating material qualification
Experience analytical lab practices (FTIR GCMS environmental testing)
Excellent problem-solving communication and teamwork skills
