Position: Music Expert
Type: Contract
Compensation: $67$75/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 20 hours/week
Role Responsibilities
- Author review and annotate technical tasks to evaluate AI model performance on music and musicology problems.
- Produce original problem sets grounded in scores harmonic analyses and spectrograms.
- Write reference solutions and apply structured quality checks.
- Provide clear structured feedback to improve AI training data quality and downstream performance.
- Work independently and asynchronously with a flexible schedule to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- DMA or PhD in Music or Musicology or MM with 3 years teaching performance or research experience or BM or BA in Music with 5 years teaching performance or composition experience.
- Working fluency in at least two of: theory history/musicology performance practice composition ethnomusicology.
- Comfortable reading and interpreting scores harmonic analyses and spectrograms.
- Clear technical writing; able to articulate reasoning step-by-step in written form.
