Position: Art Theory Expert
Type: Contract
Compensation: $67$75/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 20 hours/week
Role Responsibilities
- Author technical tasks to evaluate AI model performance in art history and art theory.
- Review and annotate problem sets grounded in artworks compositional analyses and historical imagery.
- Write reference solutions and apply structured quality checks to ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate with AI research teams to improve task quality and throughput.
- Work independently and asynchronously with a flexible schedule to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- PhD in Art History or Art Theory or MA in Art History with 3 years teaching curatorial or research experience or BA in Art History with 5 years teaching tutoring or applied curatorial experience.
- Working fluency in at least two of: art history periods critical theory visual analysis curatorial practice conservation.
- Comfortable reading and interpreting artworks compositional analyses and historical imagery.
- Clear technical writing; able to articulate reasoning step-by-step in written form.
