We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to lead tooling design and process development within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This position plays a critical role in all Pre-Design Design and Process Release stages of new tooling jobs. The ideal candidate has strong progressive die design experience understands forming processes and is highly proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Key Responsibilities
Design and develop tooling for new production programs
Create full manufacturing process flows including die stages and forming operations
Determine sequence and number of die stages for cutting punching and forming
Estimate tooling costs using material labor and subcontractor data
Input pricing and sourcing information into ERP system
Organize and lead Pre-Design and Process Release meetings
Manage subcontract tooling assignments
Oversee customer engineering changes and blueprint revisions
Maintain design files and CNC program transfers
Reverse engineer existing die sets and create electronic prints
Support die tryouts and evaluate readiness for production

Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering preferred OR Trade school certification or minimum 5 years of die/tooling design experience

Proficiency in:
SolidWorks
AutoCAD
Microsoft Excel & Word
Strong knowledge of progressive die and forming processes
Experience estimating tooling costs
Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Work Environment
Manufacturing environment with high noise levels
Exposure to production equipment and machinery
Occasional exposure to oils dust and cutting fluids
