WORK SCHEDULE
- Students can work 19.5 hours per week while school is in session and 40 hours per week during school breaks
- 100% remote position
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC) UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake) UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW) UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC) UW Physicians (UWP) UW School of Medicine (SOM) and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.
The ITS Cardiology Applications team provides support directly to clinical and operational users maintains the application and monitors its health and is included in the Ancillary and Clinical Support systems listed in the bullets below. The team is part of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Systems (DTS).
- Epic practice management revenue cycle and other business applications
- Ancillary and clinical support systems
- Analytics solution and platform for regulatory quality clinical and business reporting
- Web solution for critical initiatives and the organizations digital communications
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES RESOLVE NON-UW MEDICINE MEDICAL RECORD NUMBERS
- Use the Cleanup of Medical Record Numbers (MRNs) in ISCV SOP to reconcile patient records with similar patient demographics but differing MRNs in ISCV and Epic
- Log into Epic the system of record to determine the correct MRN and move studies in ISCV to the correct MRN and link studies
- Track work in an Excel spreadsheet
- The Student Assistant Analyst Assistant will work under the direction supervision of a Senior Analyst and report directly to the Application Manager
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be a current student at the University of Washington; preferably focused on a degree in HIMMS Medicine Nursing or another related field
DESIRED REQUIREMENTS
- Experience or education with HIPAA
- Excellent organizational skills
- Comfortable learning new software applications and learning to navigate and update patient information
- Familiarity with Epic or ability to learn
- Experience with medical records
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to take direction while also working with minimal supervision
- A strong desire to learn
