Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Post-graduate degree from an accredited program
Certification:
Valid Michigan RN License required
Work Experience:
Previous work experience with children and persons with significantphysical disabilities is preferred
Skills:
Demonstrated competency in core RN clinical and patient care skills
Ability to assess and respond to a wide range of student health and medical conditions
Strong communication skills with students parents and school personnel
Reliable attendance and strong organizational skills
Positive professional demeanor that supports a welcoming and supportive environment
Essential Job Functions:
Participate in educational and medical planning for students with health needs
Deliver effective student-centered health services in a school setting
Provide leadership in developing and implementing school health programs
Collaborate with parents staff and external agencies to support student well-being
Train staff on required healthcare procedures and maintain accurate documentation
Maintain consistent and dependable attendance
Maintain a current RN license and pursue ongoing professional development
Follow all organizational policies and procedures
Complete assigned responsibilities within established timelines
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Director of Special Education
This position follows a 211-day schedule aligned primarily with the school year with additional required days during the summer.
Terms of Employment:As per master agreement and provisions established by the Van Buren Board of Education.
