Job Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic supports the safe efficient and reliable operation of Trinity Health facilities by performing preventive maintenance repair and servicing of building systems equipment and infrastructure. This role assists with grounds upkeep and responds to departmental service requests to help maintain a functional comfortable and compliant environment for patients visitors and staff. Working as part of a collaborative facilities team the Maintenance Mechanic troubleshoots mechanical issues responds to service calls and supports fleet vehicle maintenance as assigned. Through consistent attention to safety standards teamwork and quality workmanship the position contributes to dependable daily operations and a well-maintained care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and routine maintenance on mechanical electrical and building systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Respond to maintenance requests from departments troubleshoot issues and complete repairs in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with grounds maintenance activities including lawn care landscaping snow removal and safe operation of related equipment.
- Support fleet vehicle upkeep through basic maintenance tasks and coordination of repair needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed adhere to safety standards and follow facility policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with Facilities team members to support continuous facility operations and respond to emergent needs.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Current valid drivers license
Educational Requirements:
- Trade School preferred
Experience Requirements:
- Mechanical equipment maintenance and repair
- Vehicle maintenance and repair experience helpful
- Lawn care/landscaping snow removal and equipment operation experience preferred for yards and grounds roles

Physical Requirements:
This role requires frequent walking standing bending climbing and lifting or carrying materials and equipment. The mechanic must be able to operate tools and machinery safely perform tasks at various heights or in confined spaces and meet physical demands associated with maintenance and repair activities. Adequate vision hearing and manual dexterity are necessary to complete detailed mechanical tasks.
Environmental Requirements:
Work occurs in both indoor and outdoor environments and may involve exposure to noise dust chemicals varying temperatures and moving equipment. The position requires adherence to safety protocols use of personal protective equipment and awareness of surroundings to minimize risk. The mechanic may be required to work in inclement weather or respond to urgent maintenance needs outside standard hours.
