Job Summary
Position Description:
Join a mission-driven technical team supporting a high-visibility U.S. Department of Justice program. As an RPA Development Lead you will guide automation strategy and delivery across a large-scale federal enterprise environment advancing DOJs modernization goals by integrating Robotic Process Automation (RPA) workflow modernization and emerging AI capabilities. This role blends hands-on development architecture decision-making and leadership within a collaborative multi-disciplinary team supporting critical DOJ operations.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
. Lead and mentor a team of RPA developers building secure scalable automations supporting DOJ business operations.
. Provide hands-on technical oversight across the automation lifecycle including requirements analysis solution design bot development testing deployment and O&M.
. Capture and refine business and technical requirements through client meetings workshops and user interviews with DOJ stakeholders.
. Design implement and manage automation solutions across multiple UiPath tenants/environments (Prod/Non-Prod) ensuring security traceability and DOJ audit compliance.
. Guide the deployment configuration and tuning of RPA platform components (Orchestrator bots integration services queues credentials etc.).
. Resolve complex technical issues troubleshoot bot failures and support DOJ teams with continuous improvement recommendations.
. Contribute to future-state architecture roadmaps including integration of AI-enabled automation Zero Trust-aligned authentication patterns cloud-based tooling and reusable automation frameworks.
. Participate in POCs to evaluate new DOJ-aligned automation capabilities (AI/ML document understanding intelligent orchestration).
. Document technical designs runbooks deployment notes and security/controls artifacts in Confluence to support development governance and compliance.
. Communicate daily progress blockers and risks to RPA leadership and DOJ stakeholders.
. Support Agile ceremonies conduct code reviews and promote development standards and best practices.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. Bachelors degree in Computer Science IT MIS Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience if contract allows).
. 6 years of hands-on software development experience including multiple years focused on RPA.
. Expertise developing automations with UiPath (Studio Orchestrator Queues Assets REFramework).
. Experience implementing automations in environments requiring stringent security logging and audit controls.
. Demonstrated ability to work across the full SDLC in Agile/DevOps environments.
. Strong ability to analyze complex workflows collaborate with SMEs and translate business and technical requirements into secure maintainable automations.
. Ability to independently manage priorities across multiple concurrent projects.
. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support functional teams federal stakeholders and client leadership.
. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel Word PowerPoint).
DOJ-specific requirements:
. U.S. Citizenship.
. Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust background investigation.
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
. UiPath certifications (RPA Associate Developer Advanced Developer Solution Architect).
. Experience with additional RPA platforms such as Automation Anywhere or Blue Prism.
. Experience with Momentum
. Experience with BPM/workflow platforms (Pega Appian or similar).
. Experience supporting or integrating with DOJ systems (e.g. Momentum audit logging processes Splunk ingestion Workiva/mLINQ workflows).
. Familiarity with intelligent document processing AI/ML-assisted automation or LLM-enabled workflow enhancements.
. Experience with ERP or financial systems.
. Experience developing secure automations aligned with Zero Trust principles and federal cybersecurity guidelines.
. Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure AWS) and modern integration patterns (APIs microservices secure file transfer).

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set level experience relevant training and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $71700.00 - $156700.00.
