Purpose and Objective:

SAP America Inc. seeks aDevelopment Manager at ourNaperville ILlocationresponsible for management of individuals and teams in the design implementation and maintenance of modules or features ora product.

Expectations and Tasks:

Provides application implementation services typically within the boundaries of specifications and project plans. Design activities includerequirementsanalysis and design documentation. Implementation activities include implementationtestingand integration. Maintenance activities include error analysis and removal. Usually extendsmodifiesor adapts existing designs but may also be involved in the development of new (sub-) systems. Set clear goals with team members inspire them and support them towardsaccomplishingthesegoalsand evaluate goal achievement. Actively acting as coach and mentor to help with personal development. Conducts deliverable reviews providing performance feedback whileestablishinga safe space for developers to effectively learn and grow. Contribute to change management and drive engineering excellence and continuous improvement within the engineering team. Clarify implementation approach and plan execution with the engineering team. Partners with Product Management and User Experience to translate the overall outcome-based roadmap and vision into a product backlog and prioritization understandable to the development team. Perform hands-on technical tasks and responsibilities in addition to team management coaching and development. Ensure product requirements as well as non-functionalrequirementsare built tested andmaintained. Own technical leadership anddecide onhow the product is implemented. Owns the technology decisions and resource investments (framework/architecture/tooling etc.). Ensure complianceofsoftware development processes with relevant standards regulations and legal requirements. Manage 3rd party contractors and supplier management for engineering.Identifyand address potential delivery risks that mayimpact onthe success of the product. Attend Agile Team ceremonies. Ensure supportability of theproducte.g.telemetry performance health checkmonitoringand customer feedback channels. Ensure service quality is continuously driven viae.g.root cause analysis and preventive actions.Drive adherence to support metrics and ensure 24/7 support (e.g. Manager on Duty Developer on Duty role).

Education and Occupational Experience:

Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science ElectronicEngineering ora related field of studyandseven (7)yearsofprogressive post-baccalaureateexperience in the job offered or related occupation.Alternatively aMastersdegree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science ElectronicEngineering ora related field of studyandfive (5)years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:

Experience must includefive (5)years involving each of the following:

  • Building design specifications from requirements;

  • Performing impact analysis and designingbuildingand testing features of applications;

  • Mentoring and leading Team Members;

  • DevOps responsibilities;

  • Java Web services Struts Spring Java ScriptJQuery and Tomcat; and

  • Databases SQL Server andSolrSearch.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is$160310 - $272486.SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step towarddemonstratingSAPs commitment to pay equity. SAPprovidesthe annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is$195500 - $332300. The actualamount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education skills experience scope of the role location etc. asdeterminedthrough the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollaramountand any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
