Summary


The Senior Real Estate & Corporate Paralegal supports the EVP of General Counsel and legal team with a broad range of real estate corporate governance litigation and legal operations work. This role is ideal for a highly organized detail-oriented paralegal with strong real estate law firm training who can help drive productivity keep matters moving and improve legal document organization and systems. Real estate closing experience corporate entity management litigation tracking and strong follow-through with outside counsel and internal stakeholders will be important to success in this role. This is a hybrid role with Los Angeles preferred and San Francisco also considered.


Responsibilities

  • Provide paralegal support under the supervision of General Counsel.
  • Assist with real estate transactions including preparation and coordination of closing checklists signature packets certificates resolutions consents estoppels and title and escrow deliverables.
  • Assemble organize and maintain diligence materials transaction files and closing binders.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel title and escrow companies counterparties and internal stakeholders to keep transactions and legal matters on track.
  • Assist with corporate entity formation registration maintenance and dissolution including business licenses EIN applications DBAs annual and biennial filings and registered agent updates.
  • Prepare proofread and maintain board resolutions written consents minutes agendas and related governance materials.
  • Assist with tracking and management of litigation including maintenance of litigation trackers follow-up with outside attorneys and organization of related files and status updates.
  • Draft revise and manage NDAs consulting contracts and other simple agreements based on standard forms.
  • Track legal fee costs and assist with legal department records and reporting.
  • Assist with reorganization of legal files and document storage including legacy files in SharePoint and other systems and help improve naming conventions searchability and document retention practices.
  • Prepare correspondence and provide other legal and administrative support as requested by General Counsel.


Qualifications

  • Associates degree or paralegal certificate
  • 4 years of relevant experience
  • Strong experience supporting real estate transactions and closings
  • Experience with corporate entity formation maintenance and governance documents
  • Strong sense of judgment discretion and confidentiality
  • Excellent communication writing organization and follow-up skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems


Preferred


  • Bachelors degree
  • Previous experience as a paralegal in a law firm or in-house legal department
  • Real estate law firm background strongly preferred
  • Experience tracking litigation and working with outside counsel
  • Experience improving document systems records organization or SharePoint file structures
  • California Notary Public commission or willingness to obtain
  • Familiarity with Diligent or similar software
