TALENT ACQUISITION SPECIALIST I
Minnkota Power is seeking qualified applicants for a Talent Acquisition Specialist I located at our headquarters in Grand Forks North Dakota.
The TalentAcquisitionSpecialistIisa highly visible and collaborative member of the Human Resources Department supporting all aspects of talent acquisition. This positionleadsfull-cycle recruiting and onboarding to meet hiring needs and deliver a positive new hire Talent AcquisitionSpecialistIpartnerswith department managers to develop job descriptionsestablishhiring criteria and align compensation within the organizations structure while executing effective sourcing and selection strategies. The role also coordinates onboarding processesincludingorientation compliance documentation and follow-up engagement with new position alsodrives continuous improvement of recruiting and onboarding processes tools and metrics while supporting employee engagement and related HR initiatives.
The salary range for this position begins at $83869 per year. Appropriate pay will be determined based on a candidates skills education and previous relevant experience.
EssentialResponsibilities
Sourcing and Recruiting
- Developsandimplementsrecruitmentstrategy.
- Collaborateswith department managers toidentifyand draftaccuratejob descriptions definehiring criteria andvalidatescompensation alignment.
- Identifiesand implements efficient and effective recruiting methods recognizes when to vary strategy based on the role location etc.
- Creates the job posting anddeterminessourcingprocess.
- Screens applications and helps managers select qualified candidates.
- Schedules interviews oversees preparation of interview questions/guide and other hiring materials.
- Assistswith the interview process attends and conducts interviews.
- Collaborateswith the hiring manager during the offer processtorecommend salary ranges start dates other pertinent details and extend offers to candidates.
- Process all candidates and hires in therecruitingHRIS system.
- Ensurescompliance with federal state and local employment laws and regulations company policies and contracts.
- RepresentsMinnkota at career fairs and other educational institutionsto promote our industry and its opportunities within the region and community.
- Identifyhigher educationand militarysourcing pools relevant toMinnkotashiring needs; build and foster an active partnership for near term sourcing.
- Engage in community events at area K-12 schools for longer term sourcing strategy in partnership withCommunicationsdepartment.
- Managesrelocationprocess for both external candidates/new hires and the relocation of current employees to a new work location.
- Analyze sourcing effectivenessand adjust accordingly.
- Assist with AAP and EEOC annual processes and plans.
- Completes andmonitorsnew hire drug testingbackgroundand nepotism reporting processes.
- Identifieswaste inrecruitingprocess and adjusts to reduce time to hire.
- AssistswithupdatingHR Scorecard with recruiting metrics owns metric updates.
- Develops and implements recruiting toolkit for hiring managers.
- Support power plant location and member cooperatives with recruiting as needed particularly with highly specialized roles
Orientation and Onboarding
- AssistHR Coordinatorwithonboardingnewemployeein HRIS system.
- AssistHR Coordinator in partnering withteams (IT Security etc.) to build new employee profile and system(s) access.
- Manages the first-day orientation of new employees to include: scheduling of presenters coordination oforientation day activities.
- Facilitates completion of all onboarding and new hire paperwork on employees first day to include: Form I-9 W-4 and direct deposit benefits applications benefits enrollment and all other internal paperwork.
- Schedules and executes a follow-up meeting with new hires to answer any questions and ensure they are settling into their new role and team.
- Analyzes onboarding survey results and incorporates feedback to refine processes.
- Partners with Communicationsdepartmenttoprojectmanage semi-annual industry education program for new employees
- Administershiring manageronboarding checklist and leads development into formal onboarding toolkit.

- Assistwith employee engagement and feedback surveys.

Job Qualification Standards
Education and Training
- Bachelors degree in human resources or other applicable area; or work experience in combination with education reflecting an equivalency.
- Human Resources certification (or ability to obtain certification within 1 year of employment).
Experience:
- Three to five yearsofRecruiting &Human Resources experiencerequired.
- Experience with industrial workplace settings and/or a union environmentpreferred.
- Thorough knowledge of localstateand Federal lawspertaining toHR isrequired.
- Must exercise the highest level of confidentiality and integrity.
- Must be detailed-oriented andpossessa high degree of accuracy.
