Provide leadership technical assistance and professional development to districts and campuses to support the implementation of accelerated instruction requirements in alignment with Texas Education Agency (TEA) guidance. Support local education agencies in designing and delivering high-impact tutoring and supplemental instruction to improve student outcomes for students not meeting grade-level expectations.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelors degree in education or related field
Valid Texas teaching certificate
Minimum of three (3) years successful teaching experience
Experience in instructional coaching or professional development or campus/district leadership
Preferred:
Masters degree in education leadership or related field
Experience with intervention programs tutoring or multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS)
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical assistance to districts in implementing accelerated instruction requirements for students not meeting STAAR performance standards
Support districts in designing and implementing high-impact tutoring programs aligned to TEA guidance
Assist with planning and delivery of supplemental instruction that meets required structures (e.g. frequency group size and duration)
Guide districts in aligning accelerated instruction to TEKS and effective instructional materials
Support the use of student data to identify students requiring accelerated instruction and monitor progress
Develop and deliver professional development related to accelerated instruction intervention strategies and data-driven practices
Assist districts in implementing systems to ensure compliance with state requirements including documentation and reporting
Collaborate with ESC staff and external partners to align services and resources
Stay current on TEA guidance rulemaking and best practices related to accelerated instruction
Travel within the ESC Region 6 service area as required
Key Skills & Competencies:
Knowledge of TEA accelerated instruction requirements (HB 1416/HB 4545)
Understanding of high-impact tutoring and supplemental instruction models
Knowledge of curriculum instruction and assessment aligned to TEKS
Ability to analyze and interpret student performance data (e.g. STAAR EOC)
Strong organizational communication and presentation skills
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Working Conditions:
Work on multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
Prolong sitting; occasional lifting bending/stopping pushing/pulling and twisting
