Job Summary

Primary Purpose:


Provide specialized instructional (academic and behavioral) support to teachers and the
program team within a tiered instructional framework specifically supporting Tier 2 work
with students and staff. This involves delivering training coaching and conducting data
analysis to inform student needs and monitor progress.


Qualifications:


Education/Certification

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Masters degree preferred
  • Texas teaching certification required
Skills
  • Expertise in adapting general education curriculum for all students in all contexts
  • Experience providing job-embedded instructional coaching to teachers
  • Proficiency in modifying curriculum internalization protocols to address diverse learnerneeds including but not limited to utilizing the implementation of data tracking protocolsand progress monitoring tools.
  • Strong data literacy skills including the ability to analyze curriculum-based assessment and screening data
  • Proven ability to deliver content-specific professional development as well as systemicbest practice (e.g. campus-wide/district-wide) professional development
  • Proven ability to train and coach personnel in various school roles (e.g. teachers supportstaff principals central office staff)
  • Must be service-oriented and display initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team setting required
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to team/organizational goals

Working Conditions:

  • Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer andperipherals
  • Posture: Must be physically able to tolerate prolonged sitting frequent standing;occasional bending/stooping pushing/pulling twisting and standing
  • Motion: Must be physically able to tolerate frequent standing and walking repetitivehand motions frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching occasional driving
  • Lifting: Must be physically able to tolerate regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15pounds); may require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds or more)
  • Environment: Must be physically able to work inside; tolerate frequent districtwide traveland occasional statewide travel; regular exposure to noise
  • Mental Demands: Must be able to work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotionalcontrol under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours on occasion

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
  1. Design develop and deliver professional learning experiences focused on adaptinggeneral education curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students.
  2. Using student performance data to align Tier 2 interventions directly to Tier 1 instructionhelping to close the performance gap.
  3. Design and support the implementation of Tier 2 evidence-based behavioral interventions(e.g. Check-In/Check-Out social skills groups or self-monitoring protocols) for students requiring supplemental behavioral support.
  4. Provide ongoing job-embedded coaching to teachers on implementing high-leverageinstructional strategies including explicit foundational skills instruction and the use of complex grade-level texts with appropriate supports.
  5. Collaborate with program staff to analyze student performance and screening data forstudents to identify trends and set measurable instructional goals.
  6. Lead data-driven planning sessions that support differentiated instruction and improveinstructional alignment with core academic standards.
  7. Guide education teams to accurately and efficiently implement data tracking and PM
    tools to support student outcomes.
  8. Design and facilitate targeted professional development on assessment literacy
    instructional strategies data analysis and curriculum implementation for education staff.
  9. Develop tools guides instructional and behavioral resources that support differentiatedinstruction and equitable access to rigorous curriculum for all students to developeffectiveness in Tier 2 supports.
  10. Collaborate with MTSS Systems Integration Liaisons to align instructional supports with
    findings from MTSS diagnostics especially regarding Tier 2 instruction.
  11. Serve as a key partner in advancing inclusive practices across tiers by ensuring that
    curriculum implementation strategies promote access and equity for all learners.
  12. Support system-wide efforts to strengthen instructional coherence between general andspecial education programs.
  13. Facilitate collaborative planning between general education curriculum teams and specialeducation staff to ensure shared understanding and coordinated instructional practices.
  14. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to promote alignmenttransparency and shared ownership of inclusive instructional practices.
  15. Serves as an active contributing member of the MTSS Task Force
  16. Identify adapt and create high-quality instructional materials and planning tools that
    support differentiated instruction and inclusive classroom instructional and behavioral
    practices for Tier 2.
  17. Research pilot and disseminate evidence-based strategies that promote effective
    curriculum adaptation and delivery models.
  18. Collaborates with colleagues in and beyond the ESC to identify professional developmentneeds through detailed data analysis and self-reflection to provide quality services tocustomers that positively impact student learning
  19. Clearly articulates the work plan while adhering to all departmental protocols for
    work-from-home and hybrid work arrangements as applicable.
  20. Creates ongoing collegial relationships with customers
  21. Travels as a part of job responsibilities.
  22. Maintains a functioning cell phone and is accessible through this phone as deemed
    appropriate by the service area director. A functioning cell phone means that it is chargedactivated messages checked and mailbox emptied regularly.
  23. Reports for work ready to perform responsibilities.
  24. Performs duties that directly and/or indirectly impact student performance in Region 16.
  25. Maintains a professional level of confidentiality regarding all ESC matters.
  26. Supports the mission goals and objectives of the ESC strategic plan.
  27. Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the ESC safety program.
  28. Performs professional responsibilities as required by ESC policies processes and
    procedures.
  29. Manages time calendar and job responsibilities to meet deadlines.
  30. Meets proficiency levels of required technology skills as outlined by the supervisor.
  31. Incorporates appropriate technology in daily work and exhibits continual growth in
    technologies as outlined by supervisor.
  32. Performs other duties as assigned.
