Athletic Trainer

Nemours is seeking an Athletic Trainer in Jacksonville FL.

he Clinical Athletic Trainer (ATC) supports the Orthopedics ambulatory team by providing highquality clinical care assisting in patient flow and supporting providers with evaluation treatment and documentation tasks. Working under the direction of physicians and advanced practice providers the ATC performs clinical and administrative functions aligned with the athletic training scope of practice.

This role enhances patient care improves clinical efficiency and contributes to communitybased outreach activities focused on program development injury prevention and education.

Essential Functions

Direct Clinical Support

• Assist with patient intake preparation musculoskeletal assessments and treatment under -provider supervision.
• Provide realtime scribing for providers to maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Support basic clinical procedures (e.g. transfers brace/splint application cast removal dressing changes) as delegated.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to communicate treatment plans and followup instructions.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all safety and infectioncontrol policies.
• Perform problemfocused musculoskeletal examinations under provider direction.

Clinical Flow & Administrative Support

• Coordinate patient flow to support clinic efficiency and positive patient experience.
• Respond to patient messages assist with order entry for imaging/therapy under approved protocols and assist with scheduling tasks as needed.
• Prepare and maintain clinical spaces ensuring they meet safety and infectioncontrol guidelines.

Community Outreach & Program Development (Occasional)

• Participate in community outreach activities that support program development such as injuryprevention events educational sessions for parents/coaches and awarenessbuilding initiatives (as needed)
• Represent Orthopedics/Sports Medicine at community events in coordination with the Sports Program Coordinator (as needed)
• Assist with development and delivery of education related to injury prevention and safe participation in sports.

Additional Responsibilities

• Participate in quality improvement projects departmental meetings and training as required.
• Serve as resource for students or volunteers as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned to support Orthopedics and the Sports Program.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelors degree in Athletic Training required; Masters degree preferred.

Licensure & Certifications

• Board of Certification (BOC) certification as an Athletic Trainer.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Athletic Trainer in the state of Florida.
• Current CPR/AED certification.

Experience

• Clinical athletic training experience in orthopedics or sports medicine preferred.
• Experience working with adolescent athletes and/or in outpatient clinical environments preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong interpersonal communication with ability to convey clinical information clearly.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency with electronic medical record systems (EPIC preferred).
• Strong organizational and timemanagement skills
