Job Title: Content Acquisition Specialist
Location: Newark NJ
Duration: 9 months Contract
Rate: $66.63 hourly
Description:
The Content Acquisition Specialist will support the Books Acquisitions and Content Partnerships team. This individual will research and compile contract deal term details compile and analyze sales data negotiate renewal licenses and provide other dealmaking support to the team. They will also work closely with internal teams including deal operations and legal and also work with external partners including publishers agents and authors. They will work within the team on specific workflows collaborating with others as needed. The ideal candidate is an avid consumer of media with an interest in books and entertainment a self-starter with strong analytical skills who has the ability to build a strong rapport and trust with people across multiple functional areas and thrives in a high-energy entrepreneurial environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Generate sales and performance reports using various business intelligence systems
Research contract terms by reviewing contracts amendments addendums and the contract database
Work with legal to draft amendments
Provide general operational support to the Books acquisition team
Enter and maintain records in the teams Salesforce and other databases
Process payee changes content terminations etc.
Negotiate license renewals
Role Requirements:
B.A. or equivalent degree preferred
Strong attention to detail accuracy and organizational skills
Minimum 5 years experience in publishing rights licensing
Fluency in Windows Outlook Excel Word Salesforce Airtable and similar tools
Experience working with databases and high volumes of information
Excellent business judgment exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal)
Experience managing multiple projects with competing priorities in a calm and efficient manner
