Role Overview

The Financial Manager will play a key role in overseeing the financial management and reporting of a private equity platform and its underlying investments. This includes responsibility for financial reporting cash flow management valuations compliance and supporting investment activities. This role requires a commercially minded finance professional who can operate across management finance reporting and investment functions.

The role will report directly to the director of the company’s private equity platform and will work closely with the executive and finance team of the company.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting s Stakeholder Management

• Prepare and present accurate timely financial reports to the asset manager investors and funders
• Develop and maintain reporting packs including performance analysis and key financial metrics
• Support board and investment committee reporting requirements

Cash Flow Planning and Treasury

• Manage and monitor group and investment-level cash flows
• Prepare short- and long-term cash flow forecasts
• Ensure optimal liquidity management across the platform

Investment Support and Due Diligence

• Participate in financial due diligence for prospective investments
• Analyse financial statements forecasts and business models
• Support transaction execution and funding processes

Valuations

• Perform and review valuations of underlying investments
• Apply appropriate methodologies including NAV DCF and market comparables
• Maintain robust valuation models and ensure compliance with relevant standards

Contract and Governance Management

• Oversee and manage financial aspects of legal agreements
• Ensure compliance with funding agreements and covenants
• Maintain strong financial governance and control across the platform
• Audit s External Stakeholder Coordination
• Manage the external audit process end-to-end
• Act as the primary liaison with auditors and other external stakeholders
• Ensure timely resolution of audit queries and findings

Outsourced Accounting Oversight

• Oversee and review work performed by outsourced accounting providers
• Ensure accuracy completeness and timeliness of accounting records
• Implement and maintain appropriate financial controls

Tax Compliance

• Manage all tax compliance obligations across the platform
• Review and submit VAT income tax and other statutory returns
• Liaise with tax advisors and authorities where required

Qualifications s Experience

• CA(SA) qualification (essential)
• 3–5 years’ post-articles experience preferably within private equity corporate finance or financial services
• Strong understanding of financial reporting valuations and transaction processes
