We are hiring Clinical Facilitator - Surgical Inpatient Ward into a Hospital in Dublin Ireland.
Location: On-site Dublin Ireland
Job Type: Permanent Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
- Support the hospitals mission by promoting high-quality patient-centred care grounded in respect compassion and excellence.
- Enhance patient outcomes by assessing clinical standards and implementing targeted education and professional development for nursing and healthcare staff.
- Lead and coordinate structured education training programmes and continuous professional development initiatives for surgical staff.
- Provide direct clinical supervision and support to preceptees ensuring competency development and successful completion of probation and adaptation programmes.
- Facilitate the Clinical Adaptation Programme including orientation competency assessment and ongoing support in line with Nursing and Midwifery Board requirements.
- Promote evidence-based practice and contribute to the development implementation and evaluation of clinical policies protocols and guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams ward managers and clinical coordinators to improve clinical practice and support staff development.
- Maintain accurate documentation uphold confidentiality and ensure compliance with legal ethical and health & safety standards.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives audits and practice development projects to enhance patient care and service delivery.
- Demonstrate strong leadership by managing workload effectively fostering teamwork supporting staff performance and promoting a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
Requirements
Must be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses (NMBI).
Hold a relevant postgraduate qualification; a Masters in Clinical Practice or similar is desirable.
Have a minimum of 7 years acute experience in general surgery.
Demonstrate strong clinical managerial and administrative capability.
Previous experience in clinical teaching and staff assessment is desirable.
Proven ability in conducting clinical audits and supporting quality improvement initiatives.
Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt style to different audiences and foster a culture of openness and trust.
Demonstrate leadership professionalism and commitment to maintaining high clinical standards.
Possess well-developed education coaching and mentoring skills with experience in developing nursing practice.
Hold a Level 8 qualification (or higher) and demonstrate knowledge of healthcare systems nurse education and practice development.
Exhibit strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Show commitment to continuous professional development ethical practice and quality patient care.
Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and promote inter-professional learning.
Willingness to develop and utilise IT skills relevant to the role.
