We are currently hiring Clinical Specialist Radiographer - Cath Lab for a reputed hospital in Dublin Ireland.
Responsibilities
- Perform and assist with specialised imaging procedures within the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory (Cath Lab).
- Operate and optimise fluoroscopy and angiography equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Support interventional cardiology procedures including coronary angiography angioplasty stent insertion and pacemaker implantation.
- Ensure radiation safety and compliance with national guidelines and departmental protocols.
- Prepare patients for procedures providing information reassurance and monitoring throughout the examination.
- Collaborate with cardiologists nurses physiologists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records imaging documentation and procedural data.
- Lead quality assurance audit and service improvement initiatives within the Cath Lab.
- Provide clinical supervision teaching and mentorship to radiographers students and junior staff.
- Participate in equipment management troubleshooting protocol development and implementation of best practices to support a safe and efficient Cath Lab service.
- Hold the Diploma of the College of Radiographers (Diagnostic) a Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Radiography or an equivalent qualification.
- Qualification must be recognised and validated by the Irish Institute of Radiography and Radiation Therapy (IIRRT).
- Be registered with CORU.
- Possess a minimum of 6 years post-qualification experience in a Cardiovascular Angiography/Cath Lab setting.
- Demonstrate ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities in line with IIRRT requirements and relevant to the Clinical Specialist Radiographer role.
- Have proven experience working effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform efficiently and maintain high standards in a fast-paced high-pressure clinical environment.
- Ability to effectively manage both clinical and non-clinical situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to engage and collaborate with staff clinicians and management at all organisational levels.
- Interest and involvement in quality improvement initiatives within Interventional Cardiovascular Services.

Required Skills:
