Job Overview:
- The Senior Project Controls Coordinator plays a senior role in the planning control and execution of complex construction projects including renewable energy projects such as solar and wind. This position provides leadership in project controls cost management scheduling and change management while working closely with project management construction teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. The role requires a high degree of independence strong analytical capabilities and excellent communication skills to manage risk performance and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the development of comprehensive Project Control Plans including project estimates budgets and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
- Establish manage and control project budgets ensuring alignment with approved scope and execution strategies.
- Track monitor and report Forecast at Completion (FAC) incurred costs and budgets providing detailed variance analysis and clear explanations.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure ongoing engagement and transparency regarding project progress changes highlights risks and issues.
- Communicate cost schedule and execution status with project execution and construction teams supporting timely decision-making.
- Proactively report cost and performance status identifying risks early and clearly communicating mitigation strategies.
- Develop realistic and achievable project schedules aligned with overall project objectives.
- Coordinate and update schedules with actual progress forecast remaining durations track milestones and project completion dates.
- Implement and manage Earned Value Management (EVM) ensuring accurate reporting of CPI and earned value curves.
- Lead change management processes including initiating and tracking Project Change Orders (PCOs) trends and AFE revisions.
- Support supplemental funding requests by preparing required analysis documentation and recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Engineering Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction including relevant experience in solar or wind energy projects.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Advanced proficiency in project controls and reporting systems including:
- EcoSys
- Oracle
- Power BI
- Microsoft Office Suite with strong expertise in Excel
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced dynamic project environments.
