Location:Mississauga 3 days onsite
Type of role:Contract to Hire
Contract Rate:$70 INC per hour (contracting)

Essential Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with application developers and system architects to design and implement efficient
and scalable database structures.
- Create and maintain database schemas tables indexes views and stored procedures.
- Deploy manage automate and secure Oracle databases
- Install configure and upgrade on prem Oracle databases including applying patches and service
packs.
- Configure database settings and options to optimize performance and ensure security.
- Monitor database performance using built-in tools and third-party monitoring solutions.
- identify and resolve performance bottlenecks through query optimization indexing strategies
and server configuration adjustments.
- Install configure and upgrade Oracle EBS application
- Oracle EBS application startup shutdown and monitor
- Participate in rotating On-Call coverage or emergency response as needed.
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical data.
- Perform regular backups test restores and maintain backup integrity.
- Develop disaster recovery plans and participate in recovery drills.
- Implement and enforce security policies and access controls to protect sensitive data.
- Manage user permissions roles and privileges.
- Monitor for security vulnerabilities and apply security patches and updates.
- Diagnose and resolve database-related issues including connectivity problems performance
degradation and data corruption.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to mitigate future incidents.
- Estimate future database growth and plan for scalability requirements.
- Optimize resource utilization to accommodate increasing workloads.
- Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations procedures and processes.
- Generate reports on database performance availability and security compliance.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or a related field; a
combination of training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in design implementation and support of Oracle
databases in Solaris/UNIX/Linux environment
- A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in managing Oracle EBS applications in
Solaris/UNIX/Linux environment
- Experience of Azure and Oracle Cloud highly desired
- Experience of PostgreSQL and AWS RDS is plus
- Strong understanding of relational database concepts and SQL query language.
- Experience with performance tuning indexing and query optimization.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery procedures disaster recovery planning and high
availability solutions
- Experience supporting production and pre-production environments across multiple locations
and the technologies to support them.
- Experienced with Database Code review understanding of application and system software.
- Support application teams in database schema design query optimization and migration
processes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation best practice guides and operational runbooks.
- Ability to troubleshoot database-related issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of Shell scripting or another programming language working with
database environments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of ITIL and SDLC
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as Oracle Database and EBS applications
- Azure and OCI certification
