The John Cooper School is currently seeking a Lower School Teacher.
The John Cooper School located in The Woodlands TX on a beautiful 40-acre campus with a total enrollment of 1300 students is an independent coeducational college preparatory day school serving students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. The Lower School (Grades PreK - 5) is a dynamic nurturing and collegial environment that fosters curiosity and joy in our young learners.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Knowledge of current best practices in elementary education and a genuine love for children
Willingness to be self-reflective learn and grow as a professional and individual
Ability to engage with others in a collaborative environment
Strong commitment to students progress success and social-emotional well-being
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with students parents and colleagues
Professionalism flexible thinking and respect for diversity
A positive approach to challenging situations
Desire to actively participate in department faculty and team planning and learning sessions
Strong organizational skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIORMENT
Required to walk; stoop kneel or crouch; reach with hands and arms
Generally the job requires 10% sitting 90% walking and standing
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
Classroom work environment
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree in elementary education; Masters degree preferred
Minimum of three (3) years applicable teaching experience preferred
