About the role:

Sessional Tutors will be central to the delivery ofsix bold intervention strandsthat tackle systemic barriers to learning and employment through creative and community-rooted learning models. You will work under the direction of Programme Managers and contribute to one or more of the following strands:

1. Foundational Literacy & Numeracy (Frankley Great Park)

1. ESOL & Vocational Learning for Employment (Alum Rock & Bordesley Green)

1. Childcare & Enterprise for Resilience (Aston)

1. Community Volunteering & Leadership (Kingstanding & Castle Vale)

1. Cross-Community Media & Cultural Exchange (Digbeth and city-wide)

1. Civic Leadership Development (Handsworth & Lozells)

Across all strands we are embedding digital capability media literacy and creative communication skills as essential tools for confidence voice and progression.

You will:

Plan and deliver high-quality learner-centred teaching and assessment in your subject area.

Integratecore Essential Skills(the 7 Cs: communication collaboration creativity critical thinking community awareness computer literacy and self-management).

Contribute to inclusive learning environments that prioritiseconfidence wellbeing and progression.

Collaborate withcommunity navigators peer mentors and grassroots organisationsto boost learner engagement.

Adapt delivery to meet the diverse needs of under-served economically inactive learners.

A Strong Focus on Creative & Digital Media

We are particularly excited to recruit tutors who can deliver engaging employment-focused provision in areas such as:

• Digital skills for life and work (online platforms productivity tools digital safety)

• Photography and visual storytelling

• Podcasting and audio production

• Community journalism and blogging

• Radio broadcasting and media presentation

• Social media content creation and branding

• Video production and editing

• Digital marketing for micro-enterprises

• Creative enterprise and portfolio development

You will help learners:

• Build digital confidence from the ground up

• Develop real-world media projects

• Create portfolios to support employment or self-employment

• Use storytelling as a tool for civic engagement and community cohesion

• Understand how digital platforms can amplify under-represented voices

We are also interested in tutors with experience in:

• Community-based teaching and outreach especially in partnership withgrassroots organisations community centres or faith-based venues

• Literacy and numeracyfor adult learners particularly in working-class communities

• ESOL for employment including workplace English CV building and interview preparation

• Childcare training including Ofsted-recognised qualifications and early years development

• Volunteering personal development and leadership coaching including peer mentoring and confidence-building

• Creative arts and wellbeing includingarts & crafts cooking and food safety woodwork horticulture sewing/textiles and health & beauty

• Civic participation education including public speaking grassroots campaigning and community organising

• Enterprise and self-employment including business planning budgeting and supporting learners to develop micro-enterprises

What you will need:

• Recognised teaching qualification at minimum Level 3 (or willingness to work towards one)

• Strong subject knowledge and experience of delivering inclusive adult learning

• A passion for community empowerment and a learner-first approach

• Experience working with hard-to-reach or economically inactive learners is desirable

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
