The Adjunct Professor in the School of Theology is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in undergraduate and/or graduate theological studies. This position supports the Universitys mission by fostering critical thinking ethical reflection spiritual development and academic excellence. The Adjunct Professor integrates scholarly knowledge with practical application contributing to the intellectual and faith-based formation of students while adhering to institutional and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned courses in areas such as Biblical Studies Theology Ministry Ethics Church History or related disciplines.
- Develop and deliver engaging course content aligned with approved curriculum and student learning outcomes.
- Utilize effective teaching strategies instructional technologies and assessment methods.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance grades and course materials.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments exams and projects.
- Maintain regular communication with students regarding academic progress and expectations.
- Hold office hours (virtual or in-person) to support student success.
- Adhere to approved course syllabi and ensure alignment with accreditation and institutional standards.
- Submit grades and required documentation within established deadlines.
- Uphold academic integrity and comply with FERPA and University policies.
- Communicate effectively with the Dean department leadership and administrative staff.
- Participate in faculty meetings training sessions or professional development as required.
- Maintain professionalism and respect in all interactions with students faculty and staff.
Education
- Masters degree in Theology Divinity (.) Religious Studies or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline.
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
