Responsibilities

• Has overall responsibility for Asia Pacific and worldwide pharmacoepidemiologic planning and study recommendations for assigned products.

• Develop primary subject matter expertise in one or more therapeutic areas and receive assignments in any therapeutic area depending on need.

• Lead interaction with risk management subteams value evidence subteams clinical/regulatory subteams and other areas of Research Laboratories on epidemiologic matters.

• Design conduct and analyze epidemiologic research studies on assigned products worldwide.

• Provide scientific oversight and mentorship to more junior Epidemiology staff.

• Present epidemiologic research plans or results to internal review and governance committees external agencies and at scientific conferences.

• Maintain close working relationships with colleagues in Clinical Safety and Risk Management Clinical Research Regulatory Outcomes Research Health Economics and Commercial.

• Contribute to the companys prestige by maintaining recognition as an expert in the field publishing independent scientific research participating in and presenting at scientific organizations and meetings and serving as a peer reviewer for scientific journals.

• Lead the KOL engagement with academia in the field of pharmacoepidemiology RWD/E and PMC if necessary.

• May hold academic appointments teach graduate courses and supervise Ph.D. dissertations and post-doctoral fellows.

Qualifications

Required

• PhD in Epidemiology or MD with additional research training in Epidemiology. Alternatively Masters degree in Epidemiology with at least 7 years relevant work experience.

• Five or more years of relevant work experience (7 or more years if Masters degree).

• Extensive experience in the successful direction of large epidemiologic projects.

• Broad knowledge and experience in the application of epidemiologic approaches to problems in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.

• Record of substantial research publications in peer-reviewed journals.

• Creative problem-solving ability and excellent communication skills (oral and written).
