About the Role
Principal Acoustic Systems Engineer will design develop and tune new audio systems into cars. The role will leverage Harmans brand and technology leadership in order to create the best automotive audio systems in the world
What You Will Do
- Design and tune audio systems for the automotive environment
- Investigate new audio related technologies and best practices
- Research and create novel solutions to issues in acoustic systems for the automotive environment
- Develop and document worldwide acoustic systems tools and best practices
What You Need to Be Successful
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Acoustics is required. Masters Degree in Engineering preferred
- 8 years of experience in an audio related field is required; 7 years of experience is strongly preferred
- Specific experience required in 3 or more of the following fields: acoustical engineering transducer engineering digital signal processing amplifier engineering psycho-acoustics and recording arts
- Knowledge of Matlab C C algorithm development and programming is preferred
- Detailed knowledge of acoustic theory sound reproduction and sound system tuning is strongly preferred
Bonus Points if You Have
- Passion for acoustics and/or sound recording/reproduction
- Musical background (performing teaching producing hobby enjoy concerts etc)
- Flexibility in a challenging and very rewarding work environment
