Location: British Columbia - Fully Remote
Contract Duration: 12 months -
Max INC Rate: $74.81/

Max T4 Rate: $63.40/

Role Overview

The Project Manager Infrastructure (Level 1) is responsible for the successful delivery of low to medium risk infrastructure and construction projects. This role leads cross-functional multi-disciplinary teams to ensure projects are completed safely with quality within budget and on schedule. Projects are typically valued up to $20 million and may span planning design procurement construction and closeout phases.

This role supports infrastructure initiatives within BC Hydro and requires strong coordination stakeholder engagement and reporting capabilities within a structured utility environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

  • Develop and manage detailed project plans schedules budgets and risk management plans for low to medium complexity infrastructure projects.

  • Lead project scoping planning execution monitoring and reporting activities across the full project lifecycle.

  • Monitor project benefits resources risks and status to ensure alignment with approved scope timelines and financial targets.

  • Prepare and maintain project documentation including project charters communication plans action logs status reports and post-implementation reviews.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Coordinate activities across engineering quality assurance construction management procurement planning & controls safety and stakeholder engagement teams.

  • Support regulatory approvals and engagement with Indigenous communities and other stakeholders as required.

  • Ensure effective communication and alignment between internal teams contractors and field crews.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

  • Maintain meaningful relationships with customers engineers contractors field operations and internal business units.

  • Provide clear written verbal and presentation updates to stakeholders and leadership.

  • Proactively resolve issues and escalate risks as appropriate.

Governance & Reporting

  • Utilize project management principles and tools to monitor performance against key milestones and financial controls.

  • Support quality and safety compliance throughout project delivery.

  • Use intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word Excel PowerPoint Project) and other project management tools to track and report on performance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum five (5) years of project management experience or equivalent.

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Business Economics or related discipline.

  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word Excel PowerPoint Project).

  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills suitable for a professional environment.

Preferred

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.

  • Experience delivering infrastructure projects within a utility transmission or construction environment.

Location

  • Must be located in British Columbia.

  • Remote work permitted; Interior BC preferred.

Terms & Conditions

  • Maximum bill rate: $85/hour.

  • Candidates must be submitted within five (5) business days of March 5 2026.

  • Bill rate and pay rate must reflect the candidates experience as submissions will be thoroughly reviewed.

Key Responsibilities

Work Management & Coordination

  • Provide day-to-day coordination support for material and contract workstreams.

  • Maintain visibility of work status across Program Management Field Operations Contracts and Supply Chain stakeholders.

  • Ensure information accuracy and timely follow-ups.

Materials & Contracts Support

  • Track material readiness and contract-related activities.

  • Maintain documentation and status trackers.

  • Support alignment of materials and contract work with program schedules (no procurement or contract authority).

Process & Documentation

  • Maintain and update trackers logs SharePoint content and MS Lists.

  • Support standardized and repeatable work management processes.

  • Contribute to workflow improvements and reporting accuracy.

Field-Adjacent Support

  • Provide periodic on-site support at material yards or project locations.

  • Assist with basic verification observations and documentation in compliance with safety standards.

Required Skills

  • Experience with SharePoint MS Lists or similar tracking tools.

  • SAP experience (view-only) including viewing material data and extracting information for trackers.

  • Strong Excel proficiency.

  • Understanding of basic project management principles (task tracking schedules dependencies risk awareness).

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to Transmission Distribution or material support environments.

  • Familiarity with large infrastructure or utility program delivery structures.

Role Scope

  • No procurement contract signing budget or technical authority.

  • Operates under direction of program or work management leadership.

  • Accountable for coordination accuracy documentation quality and follow-through.
