Job Summary

GENERAL SUMMARY A contributing faculty member at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (USAHS) provides engaging clinically-focused learning opportunities for students in the health science professions through face-to-face blended and/or online delivery methods. The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences seeks contributing faculty members to teach in our Occupational Therapy programs program. Courses are taught via the Universitys online platform (Blackboard). Faculty members educate USAHS students by effectively and proficiently using online technology and resources so that knowledge information feedback and critique are imparted to students in thoughtful carefully formulated well written and timely DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMaintains expertise in content areaPromotes student success through optimal student engagementCompletes all course management requirements to meet program deadlinesPrepares and delivers course contentMonitors student progress; gives feedback as appropriateFacilitates student participation in learning activitiesServes as student-to-university liaisonReports student outcomes and uses this information for teaching and learning improvementsAssesses student performance on papers/examinations/projects Communicates with program director (and course coordinator if teaching a multi-section course) regarding student difficulties or issues that ariseEnsures consistent content and testing if a multi-section courseCompletes annual self-evaluation of teaching performance; sets goals for improvementKeeps course content current and as necessary aligned with course consistency policyRecommends course improvements for upcoming semesterPromotes professionalism by modeling such behaviors inside and outside the classroom setting; promotes interprofessional dialogCollaborates with necessary departments to support a positive team environmentUpholds University core values policies and proceduresOTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMay perform other duties and responsibilities that management may deem necessary from time to REQUIREMENTSSome travel may be IN ORGANIZATIONREPORTS TO: Academic Program Director POSITIONS SUPERVISED: NoneTECHNICAL MANAGERIAL and PEOPLE SKILLS REQUIREDTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Post- professional masters degree or clinical doctorate with demonstrated clinical expertise with plans to obtain a terminal degree will be consideredPrior teaching experience preferred could include onlineExperience in scholarly activity preferredA minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in the area of course content requiredWorking knowledge of educational theory and methodologyLICENSURE and/or CERTIFICATIONFaculty Members must be appropriately credentialed possess an earned degree from an accredited institution or recognized by a countrys ministry of education in the discipline being taught and be licensed or license-eligible in order to teach in specific COMPETENCIES Committed to Mission and Values - Has a clear understanding of institutions mission and values. Contributing Faculty are hired for specific assignments which may vary by term. Compensation is a reasonable estimate and will be determined based on course credit hours student enrollment and educational degree RANGE:Contributing Faculty Per Course: $259.00 - $10506.00Faculty Lab Instructor Per Hour: $41.60 - $57.00
