Job Summary
As School-Age Program & Administrative Support at Rising Starz Child Care Center you will serve in a hybrid role supporting both our school-age program and front office operations. We are looking for someone who values consistency professionalism teamwork and positive relationships with children families and coworkers.
This role includes helping maintain a safe engaging and structured environment for school-age children during afterschool care school breaks and summer programming while also supporting daily administrative and front office responsibilities that help keep the school organized welcoming and running smoothly. This position requires flexibility initiative and the ability to move confidently between classroom support and day-to-day school responsibilities while upholding Rising Starz expectations DFPS Minimum Standards and Texas Rising Star quality practices.
Responsibilities
- Support a safe organized and engaging environment for school-age children
- Provide classroom coverage and support during transitions lunch relief afterschool care school breaks and summer programming
- Build positive relationships with children families and coworkers
- Provide front office support including answering phones and assisting families in a professional and welcoming manner
- Assist with organizing materials preparing classroom resources and maintaining orderly shared spaces
- Support school events including communication and photo documentation as needed
- Maintain clean organized and prepared classroom and workspace areas
- Follow DFPS Minimum Standards and support Texas Rising Star expectations
- Help maintain daily compliance practices records and routines as assigned
- Work collaboratively with leadership and team members to support school-wide goals and daily operations
- Model professionalism reliability and a strong team-centered attitude
- Provide support where needed throughout the school
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of previous experience in a preschool school-age or licensed childcare setting preferred
- Experience in an administrative or office support role preferred but not required
- Must meet DFPS requirements for employment in a licensed childcare center
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Organized detail-oriented and able to manage multiple responsibilities
- Positive professional and dependable approach with children families and coworkers
- Strong initiative flexibility and work ethic
- Ability to transition effectively between classroom support and office or school responsibilities
- CPR and First Aid Certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Must pass a criminal background check
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 or more years of experience in a school-age preschool or licensed childcare setting
- Experience in a Texas Rising Star program
- Familiarity with classroom documentation school readiness practices and licensing standards
- Ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking children and families
