If you require accommodation please contact us and we will work with you to meet your needs in accordance with applicable are looking for an experienced Inclusive Education (Learning Support) teacher specializing in science and/or mathematics to join our Morven Campus (Grades 8-12). The ideal candidate will be a dynamic collaborative inspirational and tech-savvy individual with experience working with students diagnosed with learning differences. They should demonstrate the ability to contribute to various aspects of school life including coaching and extra-curricular responsibilities. This is a Permanent Full-Time position starting August 28 an assigned caseload of studentsDesign and implement targeted interventions aligning with identified learning needs through small group instruction and/or IE blocksBe accessible and available to students during assigned IE blocksCo-teach or provide in-class support when appropriate and as needed (based on departmental need)Oversee and implement test accommodations (class assessments literacy and numeracy assessments Advanced Placement tests)Read and interpret psychoeducational assessments to inform student accommodations develop IEPs/SLPs and communicate assessment renewal dates with familiesDevelop implement and regularly review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Student Learning Plans (SLPs)Plan coordinate and facilitate parent and team meetings as needed including required IEP/SLP meetings held throughout the school yearMonitor student progress using a range of student achievement data (i.e. Report cards teacher feedback) to inform instructional planning and intervention design and evaluation of supportsMaintain IE documents files and systems related to student support ensuring student records and information are up to dateCommunicate and collaborate with relevant stakeholders regarding student progress and support strategies (including educational psychologist therapists parents)Collaborate and communicate effectively with departmental colleagues classroom teachers school nurses and Heads of House to support student learning and well-beingParticipate actively in all departmental and student meetings collaborate on planning and professional development sessionsCommunicate student learning for the Targeted Support and Learning Centre block students during the second termProvide tutorial support for students outside regular class time as scheduled or requiredOversee the Inclusive Education academic flex blockFulfill the role of an advisor teacher or Community Flex lead in alignment with school programmingThe role includes a 0.2FTE teaching allocation (or equivalent)Required qualifications Bachelor of Education with training in teaching students with learning differencesExperience teaching the BC Ministry mathematics and science curriculum at the secondary level BC Teaching CertificationBasic First AidCanadian residency and legally entitled to work in CanadaPreferred Qualifications and ExperiencesMasters Degree or specific coursework in Special Education Mathematics and/or ScienceExperience teaching math and/or science is an assetKnowledge of UDL practices and differentiated learning approachesExperience in developing writing and implementing IEP goalsExperience teaching Grade 8 -12 levelStrong problem-solving and organizational skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsPreference will be given to candidates with a Science and/or backgroundFamiliarity with assistive technologies and AI tools to support student independence and learningOur Must HavesRespect dignity and inclusion for all members of the community Collaborative mind-set and courageous approach to adversityDemonstrated communications skills (oral and written) Creative out-of-the-box thinkerFlexible and adaptable and embraces change Proven work ethic with utmost integrityEnthusiasm eagerness and genuine interest in all aspects of the schools successSelf-awareness with a desire for constant self improvement (goal-oriented)We offer professional development opportunities competitive salaries a generous benefits package including RRSP Personal Days access to an Employee and Family Assistance Plan and access to a Health Spending Account health and wellness initiatives along with one of the most beautiful locations in Canada to work!The current 2025-26 faculty grid annual salary range for this position is *$75322 to $112169 based on years of experience and a Bachelor of Education.
