Job Title: Bagging Machine Operator

Pay Rate: $20-21.50/hr.

Shift: 2nd (2 PM Start time)

Summary/Objective The Bagging Machine Operator tends the machine used for packaging fruit into netted or plastic bags ensuring quality and productivity goals are achieved.

Essential Functions

Reads and understands the production schedule.

Performs pre-operation inspection of machine; Starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunction of machine reporting any malfunction to supervisor.

Performs set-up and makes adjustments to include programming and adjusting weights as needed and according to the production schedule.

Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the preventative maintenance schedule.

Inspects filled bags to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications.

Replenishes packaging supplies as needed.

Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions and quality of the product to the department supervisor.

Performs work in compliance with food safety and sanitation policies including GMPs personal hygiene equipment cleanliness and work area cleanliness.

Follows all prescribed safety regulations.

Coordinates with employees assigned to the bagging area to ensure an efficient operation.

Understands the basic function and operation of the assigned machine.

Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experienced in the basic operation of manufacturing equipment.

Ability to read and write.

Basic math skills including the ability to add subtract multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.

Strong sense of urgency and personal accountability.

Detail oriented and organized.

Excellent attendance and punctuality is required.
