Program Overview
Clean Energy Career Connect is part of Henry Street Settlements Education and Employment Services portfolio a $15 million initiative providing a continuum of programs from early childhood education through adult workforce development. The program prepares community members for in-demand careers in the clean energy sector through sector-based training career readiness programming and connections to employer partners. Participants gain industry knowledge workforce skills and access to technical training opportunities that lead to sustainable career pathways.
Position Summary
The Clean Energy Careers Connect Success Coordinator plays a key role in supporting participant success after program enrollment job placement and job retention. The Success Coordinator provides ongoing career coaching retention support and advancement guidance to help participants maintain employment and grow within the clean energy sector. This role focuses on developing strong relationships with participants while addressing barriers to employment and supporting long-term career success. The coordinator ensures participants remain engaged supported and connected to opportunities for advancement for at least one year following placement.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in social work Human Services or a related field preferred OR
- Associate degree with relevant experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in case management workforce development career counseling or employment services.
- Experience working with public systems such as public assistance housing education or child welfare preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of workforce development practices and labor market trends particularly within the clean energy sector.
- Experience providing career coaching resume support and interview preparation.
- Ability to facilitate workshops and group sessions using culturally responsive methods.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to support diverse populations.
Proficiency in:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook)
- Data tracking and case management systems
- Web-based collaboration platforms
- Online job boards and professional networking platforms (LinkedIn CareerBuilder etc.)
- Social media platforms for outreach and recruitment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide retention and advancement support for participants engaged in internships apprenticeships and full-time employment.
- Maintain engagement (every three months) to assess participant progress evolving career goals and potential employment barriers.
- Support implementation and monitoring of individualized employment plans and program outcomes.
- Assist participants in identifying career advancement opportunities additional certifications and professional development within the clean energy and building automation sectors.
- Monitor participant progress and adjust employment plans as needed to support continued success.
- Connect participants to community resources such as transportation childcare housing and supportive services to address barriers to employment.
Career Coaching & Workforce Development
- Facilitate workshops and group sessions focused on professional development career advancement and skills enhancement.
- Provide career coaching mentoring and professional guidance to help participants succeed and remain employed.
- Provide resume development interview preparation and job readiness coaching.
- Screen candidates and prepare participants for job interviews through individual coaching and group workshops.
Employer & Industry Partnership Engagement
- Collaborate with job developers to match participants with appropriate employment opportunities.
- Support recruitment efforts by marketing job openings internships and apprenticeships through workshops one-on-one meetings recruitment events and social media.
- Build and maintain relationships with local employers clean energy training and workforce partners to secure talent development pipelines for employment.
Data Management & Program Compliance
- Conduct data analysis and program evaluation for each cohort and lead program processes and strategy for result driven program development.
- Maintain accurate case notes documentation and program reports related to participant progress and employment outcomes.
- Track retention job placement and advancement metrics.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and funder reporting requirements.
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in program meetings training and cross-departmental initiatives.
- Support special events recruitment activities and employer engagement efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Essential Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while completing administrative tasks.
- Ability to stand and facilitate workshops lasting 23 hours.
- Ability to travel to Henry Street Settlement program locations.
- Ability to travel to participant worksites and employer partner locations.
