Educational Content Developer
Job Summary
The Law Society of NSW is Australias largest and most influential membership association for solicitors. Were not all lawyers but we work together to support the legal profession and ensure a just society for all.
We are currently looking for a full-time fixed term Educational Content Developer to join our Professional Development team for 12 months.
About the role
The Educational Content Developer will support the programming research and development of the Law Societys legal education program. This includes live and on-demand content projects such as conferences seminars webinars workshops elearning support staff training and other events.
About the team
The Professional Development team sits within the Membership and Engagement Department and is responsible for delivering ongoing legal education to the profession that is relevant current and responsive to the changing legal landscape. The PD team also delivers the Specialist Accreditation Program which enables practitioners to gain recognition as an expert in their area of practice.
What youll be doing
- Support the Legal Education Manager to program key conferences and CPD activities by undertaking legal and industry research identifying emerging issues and priority topics assessing audience needs and commercial viability and drafting concise proposals for approval.
- Proactively build and manage relationships with senior legal professionals and presenters/subject matter experts (SMEs) to secure high-quality speakers and contributors.
- Work within established education content development workflows to coordinate across internal teams (e.g. events and other relevant stakeholders) to support timely high-quality delivery.
- Work closely with presenters and SMEs to draft and refine educational content (e.g. catalogue copy session summaries and course materials) to ensure it is clear accurate and compelling for the target audience.
- Manage approved projects end-to-end including defining scope and content requirements developing project plans and timelines coordinating SMEs tracking risks and issues quality-checking content and ensuring final materials are complete and ready for publication.
- Review post-event/course evaluation by analysing feedback and stakeholder input and recommend improvements to content speakers and delivery approaches.
- Support the ongoing curation of the CPD catalogue by auditing offerings for relevance and currency conducting legal research to identify updates and coordinating revisions with SMEs and internal stakeholders as required.
About you
- Completion of a relevant bachelors degree (e.g. law arts communications journalism business or similar) or an equivalent combination of relevant experience in legal content research stakeholder engagement and/or project coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake legal or industry-specific research and translate it into clear accurate and compelling written materials (e.g. briefs proposals program copy speaker notes and summaries).
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences including senior legal professionals and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to develop clear project plans and timelines monitor project progress and competing priorities and manage competing priorities and provide regular professional updates to stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence and interpersonal ability to build rapport and work effectively with senior legal professionals and other contributors (in person and remotely). within budget and to required standards.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills including negotiation influencing and problem-solving skills.
- Flexible professional and adaptable to changes in working instructions and project briefs.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse information identify risks/issues apply sound judgement and quality-check content for accuracy consistency and audience suitability.
- Experience working within a professional skills or membership organisation (desirable).
