Job Summary

Job Summary: This is a 2nd shift machine operator position that will be required to safely adjust and operate various machines and equipment involved in production.


Duties/Responsibilities:

Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include lathes grinders mills primary punch presses secondary presses press brakes slitter router robotic welder and similar equipment.

Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.

Measures finished parts with precision tools ensuring compliance with function quality and cosmetic specifications.

Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.

Maintains a clean safe and orderly work area.

Reads and interprets calipers micrometers and blueprints.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

At least one year of related experience preferred.

Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for educational requirements.

Machining experience or certificate is a plus.


Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods working on feet using tools and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.

Prolonged periods of standing pushing pulling lifting and carrying materials.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

Visual acuity to read instructions operate machines and inspect parts produced.

Must wear safety glasses.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.

Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation.

Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and good basic math skills.

Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.

Ability to read blueprints and various measuring tools including calipers and micrometers.

Ability to exercise sound judgment in adapting setups.

Must work well independently and in a team environment.

Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.

Ability to communicate and work with people in office factory and inspection as required.

Must be safety oriented.

Ability to maintain correct tolerances and quality specifications.

Salary Description
17-19 an hour
