Position Summary:
Richardson Bay Audubon Center & Sanctuary in Tiburon CA is looking for one individual passionate about educating young children on the wonders of nature and environmental science and a desire to coordinate daily camp operations.
Audubon Adventure Camp consists of a summer long commitment including one week of staff training and eight week-long camp sessions for children ages 4-7.
Length of Assignment: June 15th through August 14th 2026
Hours: 40 hrs per week
This role is on-site at Richardson Bay Audubon Center & Sanctuary in Tiburon CA.
Compensation:
$23.75 - $26.00 / hour
Additional Job Description
Essential Functions:
Interface with parents/guardians during camp drop-off and pick-up
Be point of contact of naturalists throughout the camp day
Coordinating preparation of camp curriculum and camp projects
Ensuring daily camp prep and clean-up is completed
Leading camp activities in a safe and engaging manner
Developing conservation and restoration activities for camp participants
Keeping a log of curriculum and your Naturalist experience to share at weekly staff meetings
Additional duties that contribute to the success of a non-profit
Qualifications and Experience:
Skilled in creating a safe warm and welcoming atmosphere to awaken childrens curiosity for and enjoyment of nature
Able to interact well with children teens and adults especially parents
Experience working with children and teaching children
Ability to plan and conduct nature-themed lesson plans/activities for children
Reliable self-motivated emotionally mature creative and team player
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Interest in local natural history and the outdoor environment
Willing to work outdoors in any weather as necessary
Current First Aid/CPR certification required
