Job Title: Telemetry Technician

Job Summary:
The Telemetry Technician is responsible for continuous cardiac monitoring including real-time interpretation of ECG rhythms. This role plays a critical part in identifying arrhythmias responding to life-threatening changes and supporting patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment. The technician works closely with the healthcare team to ensure that patients are continuously monitored and that any issues are addressed promptly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuous ECG Monitoring: Perform 24/7 cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation for patients ensuring continuous observation and accurate detection of abnormalities.
- Arrhythmia Identification: Detect and respond to life-threatening arrhythmias. Initiate codes and communicate promptly with the clinical team.
- Electrocardiograms (ECG): Conduct ECGs with proper electrode placement ensuring proper documentation and analysis.
- Emergency Response: Accurately document rhythms during emergencies and assist in the initiation of life-saving procedures.
- Communication: Collaborate with nurses physicians and team members sharing critical information about patient condition and test results.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records per facility standards. Enter and verify patient orders in the system.
- Equipment Operation: Operate telemetry monitoring equipment and troubleshoot any issues with the monitoring system.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certifications:
- Telemetry Technician Certification
- Completion of Dysrhythmia Course
- BLS Certification (AHA or Red Cross)
- Experience: Pediatric telemetry experience is required.
- Skills:
- Strong ECG analysis and arrhythmia recognition
- Proficient in telemetry monitoring
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
