The Emergency Department is a Level I Adult Pediatric and Burn Trauma Center. It spans the ground floor of 3 buildings and is divided into several areas including pediatric and psychiatric areas.
Schedule
36 hours per week (3) 12-hour shifts
Days 7 am 7 pm
Rotational holiday and weekend schedule
Job Summary
Under RN direction provides constant observation to patients identified as a risk to themselves or others. Responsible for providing care related tasks in accordance with the individual needs of the patient maintaining patient confidentiality and following hospital guidelines.Does this position require Patient Care

Essential Functions
-Maintain constant observation of patient.
-Document the care of patient under observation.
-Keep nurse informed of changes in the patients condition.
-Assists patient in the event of a fall.
-Receives and provides detailed handoff information from/to staff regarding the patient and their status.
-Assists with feeding patient (s) as directed by the RN.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

- Ability to remain alert for extended periods of time.
- Ability to verbally calm patients.
- Ability to perform calmly and quickly in stressful situations.
