Patient Benefits Analyst

Client: Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH)
Project: Supplemental Staffing for Revenue Cycle Functions

The Patient Benefits Analyst will support Revenue Cycle operations by analyzing patient coverage information documenting insurance coverage within Epic identifying trends related to patient responsibility collections and recommending process improvements to optimize revenue collection and third-party reimbursements. The role requires close collaboration with clinical and operational leadership regarding coverage discovery patient responsibility and revenue cycle initiatives.

• Review coverage discovery for scheduled patient appointments to determine patient responsibility.
• Document insurance coverage accurately in Epic.
• Analyze trends in coverage and point-of-service patient responsibility collections across 88 clinic locations.
• Recommend process improvements to maximize patient responsibility collections and third-party payments.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to clinical and operational leadership.
• Support revenue cycle initiatives and reporting activities.

• Bachelors Degree.
• Epic PB (Professional Billing) experience; certification preferred.
• RHIA RHIT or CPC certification required.
• Experience with:
  • Revenue cycle reporting build logic data analysis claims adjudication and training.
  • Revenue cycle clearinghouse operations.
  • Third-party coverage discovery.
  • Real-Time Eligibility (RTE) interpretation.
• Advanced Epic experience.
• SME-level expertise in:
  • Revenue Cycle Clearinghouse.
  • Insurance Benefit Interpretation.

• Public Health revenue cycle experience.
• Community Health experience.
• Physician Clinic revenue cycle experience.
• FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center) experience.
• RHC (Rural Health Clinic) experience.
• Mississippi healthcare industry experience
