Job Summary: Reporting to the Principal or administrator designee the In-House Substitute Teacher provides consistent high-quality instructional support by implementing or developing lesson plans aligned to classroom expectations fostering active student engagement and maintaining a positive well-managed learning environment. Assumes full instructional responsibilities during long-term assignments including planning grading and family communication. Utilizes diverse teaching strategies and data-driven practices to meet the varied needs of students including small group instruction while upholding high expectations for academic achievement and behavior. Collaborates effectively with staff families and the broader community supervises students across school settings and actively participates in professional development to continuously improve instructional practice
What You Will Do
Instruction & Lesson Planning
- Follow classroom teachers lesson plans or create lesson plans when needed.
- Design and implement small group instruction.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies based on diverse student needs.
Long-Term Substitute Responsibilities
- Grade classwork homework and tests.
- Attend parent-teacher conferences.
Classroom Environment & Student Management
- Maintain a well-managed classroom.
- Foster a positive learning environment.
- Maintain high expectations for student achievement and conduct.
- Value and incorporate students experiences and backgrounds.
Student Supervision
- Supervise students in classroom and non-classroom settings (hallways cafeteria etc.).
Assessment & Data Use
- Analyze informal and formal assessment results.
- Use data to inform and adjust instruction.
Collaboration & Communication
- Communicate and collaborate with colleagues parents and community members.
- Attend and engage in professional development opportunities.

Qualifications
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree
- Valid California 30 Day Substitute Teaching Permit (required).
- Spanish Bilingual (preferred)
Compensation and Benefits:
- $35.83/Hourly.
- CA State Teachers Retirement System (CalSTRS)
