Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating maintenance activities within the facility. This role focuses on executing and improving maintenance systems while ensuring equipment reliability operational efficiency and safety across the plant.

The Maintenance Supervisor leads a team of maintenance technicians and works closely with operations to support production goals minimize downtime and maintain quality standards.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities across the facility to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Schedule maintenance team activities to maximize production efficiency and minimize operational costs.
  • Utilize maintenance resources effectively to support performance objectives related to safety downtime reduction scrap reduction and product quality.
  • Develop and lead preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Respond to and manage maintenance emergencies to minimize operational disruption.
  • Lead and mentor maintenance technicians to support skill development and team performance.
  • Enforce plant safety standards and housekeeping practices.
  • Evaluate employee performance and provide coaching and feedback to ensure team success.
  • Ensure production equipment and outputs meet required customer and company quality specifications.
  • Collaborate with management and employees to resolve operational issues concerns or grievances.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance systems and plant performance.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • 3 years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a maintenance or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong communication presentation and organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with SAP or other maintenance management systems.
  • Proficiency with computer software and maintenance management tools.
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate with employees and leaders at various levels of the organization.

  • Experience with preventive predictive and precision maintenance programs.
  • Experience managing or supporting capital improvement projects.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience leading larger maintenance teams in industrial or manufacturing environments.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises a team of up to 20 or more maintenance technicians.

Travel

Minimal travel required (approximately 1015%).

About the location (Macon GA)

Our Macon Plant one of twenty Armstrong plants in North America employs over 400 peopleworking on rotating shifts 24/7 in the manufacture and shipment of acoustical ceiling tile to Armstrongs customers. Located approximately 85 miles south of Atlanta the Macon facility has 33 acres under one roof or 1.5 million square feet of floor space. It is the largest ceiling tile factory in the world. The operations are complex automated use the latest modern management technology and manufacture a wide range of commercial and residential ceiling products.

Macon also known as the Cherry Blossom Capital of the World is in the heart of Georgia and marks a historical crossroads in the south.
