An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sous Chef to join a luxury boutique hotel in the Lake District as the kitchen enters a new phase under refreshed leadership and clear long-term ambition.

Operating at 3 AA Rosette level with newly launched tasting and à la carte menus the focus is firmly on refining standards strengthening the brigade and progressing towards Michelin recognition.

This is a key role within the kitchen offering genuine influence responsibility and the opportunity to be part of a team pushing standards forward.

The Restaurant

  • 3 AA Rosette standard
  • Michelin Plate level
  • Modern British produce-led cooking
  • Seasonal tasting menu and à la carte offering
  • Strong focus on local sourcing flavour and presentation

The aim is clear: develop elevate and progress.

The Role

Working closely with the Head Chef you will play a central role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen.

You will:

  • Support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen and maintaining standards
  • Drive consistency and quality across all sections during service
  • Help structure and develop the brigade
  • Support menu development and refinement
  • Oversee prep organisation and kitchen discipline
  • Assist with stock control ordering and kitchen management
  • Lead service confidently and step up in the Head Chefs absence

This is a hands-on role requiring both strong technical ability and leadership presence.

The Package

  • 40000 base salary
  • Gratuities 200400 per month
  • 50-hour contract (no split shifts)
  • Overtime paid if hours exceed rota

The Ideal Candidate

  • Current Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous ready to step up
  • Experience within Rosette-level or high-quality fresh-food kitchens
