Parking Enforcement Specialist
Job Summary
This position typically reports to a Parking Supervisor or other appropriate supervisory or management position. This position requires prior experience in a customer service security or parking environment. This job requires physical abilities such as trunk strength manual dexterity and wrist-finger movement in order to perform the essential functions of the position. This position receives supervision in the form of parking areas to be patrolled special events to work and tasks to be completed which are assigned by the Supervisor. This position performs the duties of the job within specific guidelines USF policies and departmental procedures. Also this position is responsible for reporting any complex or unusual problems to the Supervisor. This position comes into contact with co-workers his/her supervisor and may also come into contact with students visitors faculty and staff members during the course of his/her shift. This position requires intermediate-level customer service skills in dealing with angry and disgruntled customers and potential emergency situations.
Salary Range: $32240-$34000
Responsibilities
- Patrols and monitors all campus roadways and parking facilities ensures street and parking lot access is clear and no obstructions block the flow of pedestrian and motor vehicle traffic.
- Issues citations for parking violations in accordance with USF Parking rules regulations and procedures.
- Gives directions and information to visitors students faculty and staff members such as parking lot locations shuttle bus stops and schedule and parking rules.
- Provides motorist assistance to individuals such as jump starting vehicles assist with keys locked in car and inflating low tires.
- Reports suspicious persons or activities vehicular accidents fire hazards emergency situations and unsafe conditions observed during his/her shift.
- Communicates with dispatcher/central parking office to answer emergency calls and respond to other traffic situations.
- May assist in traffic control such as putting up barricades directing traffic at intersections and managing traffic flow during special events.
- May be required to immobilize a vehicle with a parking boot or request a tow for vehicle when all other means are exhausted.
- Performs other miscellaneous parking related duties as requested or needed.
Qualifications
This position requires a high school diploma and one year of directly related experience in customer service security or traffic control. A valid Florida Drivers License may be required to operate a motorized vehicle such as a golf cart.
