The Mortgage Specialist II manages the end-to-end loan pipeline by overseeing disclosures documentation and verification processes while collaborating with loan officers underwriters clients and third-party partners to ensure accurate compliant and timely loan processing from application through closing.
This role features a hybrid work model that blends in-office collaboration three days a week with the flexibility to work from home two days a week.

Essential Job Functions
- Reviews mortgage loan applications for completeness and accuracy.
- Generates and sends disclosures and other required documents to borrowers in compliance with regulations.
- Verifies and follows up on borrower information (i.e. income credit assets and employment) to ensure loan file is accurate complete and compliant with all requirements.
- Orders and follows up on third-party services such as appraisals title flood certifications and verifications.
- Compiles and submits completed accurate loan files for underwriting review in a timely manner.
- Manages rate lock deadlines expiration dates document expiration and closing dates.
- Ensures timely management of adverse action deadlines.
- Communicates with borrowers and team members to provide updates on loan status and clarify information as needed.
- Coordinates with underwriters title companies and other stakeholders to ensure timely loan closings.
- Attends weekly pipeline review meetings to ensure file progression and address any issues.
- Prepares the preliminary Closing Disclosure for review and approval by the closer before submitting for Clear to Close.
- Remains current on all lending policies programs regulations and compliance procedures ensuring full adherence at all times.
- Provides exceptional customer service to borrowers and internal stakeholders.
- Actively stays current on all Bank products services procedures policies and applicable regulatory and compliance requirements by regularly attending team meetings completing mandatory training on schedule and applying knowledge to ensure accuracy and compliance in daily operations.
- Ensures adherence to federal and state laws regulations and bank policies by preventing violations minimizing risks and safeguarding the Banks interests.
- Verifies transactions and account balances ensuring compliance with bank policies and state and federal regulations and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) as applicable to the role.
Requirements
Qualifications Experience and Education
- High School Diploma
- 35 years of experience in a mortgage processing role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of residential loan workflows.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state lending regulations as well as compliance requirements related to mortgage processing.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficient in mortgage loan origination systems (LOS) automated underwriting systems (AUS) and office software including word processing spreadsheets and presentation applications.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-energy and dynamic environment.
