Hours per Shift: 11.5 hours
Shifts per Week: 3
Total Weekly Hours: 34.5 hours
Schedule: Every other weekend required
Job Summary
A healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Telemetry Technician to provide continuous cardiac monitoring in a clinical environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ECG interpretation arrhythmia recognition and the ability to respond effectively to critical cardiac events including pediatric monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
Perform continuous ECG monitoring and accurate rhythm interpretation
Analyze ECG strips to identify arrhythmias and life-threatening changes
Assist during emergency situations including code response and rhythm documentation
Perform electrocardiograms with proper electrode placement
Respond promptly to monitor alarms and troubleshoot equipment issues
Communicate effectively with nurses physicians and care teams
Enter and verify orders within electronic systems
Retrieve and report laboratory results to clinical staff
Maintain accurate and timely documentation per facility standards
Operate and manage telemetry and monitoring equipment safely and efficiently
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Telemetry Technician Certification (required)
Minimum experience as a Telemetry/Monitor Technician
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (e.g. American Heart Association or Red Cross)
Completion of a Dysrhythmia course
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a hospital or acute care setting
Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
Additional Requirements
Must have prior hands-on experience as a Telemetry or Monitor Technician
Pediatric telemetry experience is mandatory
Must be available to work every other weekend
