Wildlife and Plant Licensing (WPL) responsibilities are transitioning from the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service to the newly established Biodiversity and Heritage Regulator (BHR). The WPL Project team are responsible for the migration of business processes and data from the existing legacy platform onto a new platform that maximises operational efficiency by Sep 2027. The team will rely on input of key stakeholders across different divisions and external vendors. The project itself will have at least two to three streams running in parallel throughout a major part of the delivery period.
About the role
As a Project Officer in DCCEEWs IT Team you will provide project management support to help deliver a new this role you will prepare and maintain project documentation (including reports briefs schedules and stakeholder communications) coordinate resources and implement and monitor project plans to support delivery of outcomes. You will track and report on activities deliverables and milestones including resource utilisation and financial expenditure against allocated budgets and support procurement activities. Working closely with key stakeholders and project team members you will keep delivery aligned to agreed plans by sourcing collating and compiling information identifying emerging issues and supporting resolution of risks and issues. You will also undertake research and analysis to identify trends support informed decision making and planning and contribute to improvements in document management standards and processes to ensure system integrity quality and efficiency.
About you
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- Experience providing project coordination/support including maintaining project plans schedules and registers.
- Clear written communication skills including drafting concise reports briefs and updates.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build productive working relationships.
- Ability to work with data and information to monitor progress identify issues and support practical solutions.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines with experience using document management systems and common project tools desirable.
Essential criteria
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/ or significant experience in projects involving the design development and procurement of IT Infrastructure systems or services
