Job Summary
This position is responsible for planning and developing course outlines presenting the course material to students and evaluating the students progress. This person should also facilitate a positive learning environment participate as a member of the school team build and support the school mission and strive to maintain communication links with other agency programs and staff.
What Youll Do
- Identify acquire or create appropriate learning resources and develop lesson plans.
- Teach classes as designated individually or as part of a team.
- Vary learning materials and presentation to fit needs of students.
- Develop communication with students and parents.
- Participate in team effectiveness and registration process.
- Adhere and enforce schools standards of behavior on a consistent basis.
- Develop and implement appropriate structure policies and procedures.
- Establish and implement appropriate social/extra curricula activities.
What You Bring
Education/ Experience
- Bachelors degree in secondary education or equivalent
- State of Minnesota Teaching License in secondary mathematics required.
- Training and experience in alternative school setting preferred
- Training and experience in behavior modification techniques and class management preferred
- Training and experience with computers preferred
- Experience working with diverse at-risk youth population
- Training and experience in team teaching
- Training and experience in assessments and testing
- Training and experience with school-to career programs preferred
- Proficient in a second language (other than English) preferred
