A Day in the Life

Responsibilities include:

• Procurement Management: Responsible for managing the procurement process for Medtronic including sourcing negotiating and purchasing goods and services from external suppliers

• Planning and Forecasting: Develop and maintain a comprehensive purchasing plan based on market trends customer needs and production requirements

• Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain positive relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products and services

• Inventory Management: Monitor and analyze inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels and prevent shortages or excess stock

• Cost Management: Implement cost-saving strategies and initiatives to improve overall procurement efficiency and reduce costs

• Quality Control: Work closely with suppliers to ensure the products and services meet Medtronics quality standards and specifications

• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments such as production logistics and sales to ensure timely delivery of products and efficient communication

• Data Analysis: Utilize data and market trends to make informed purchasing decisions and identify areas for improvement in the procurement process

• Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws regulations and company policies related to procurement and sourcing activities

• Performance Evaluation: Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement and maintain high-quality standards

• Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other members of the procurement team to achieve departmental goals and objectives

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• Bachelors degree required

• Minimum of 4 years of purchasing experience or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

Nice to Have

• Experience working with MRP/ERP systems (preference working in SAP or Blue Yonder)

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel Word Access Outlook etc.) or similar software.

• Strong data analysis data management and quantitative skills

• Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) team orientation and ability to negotiate towards positive outcomes.

• Strong organizational skills and good understanding of team dynamics.

• Must be detail-oriented with ability to connect the detail to higher level goals.

• Working knowledge of quality system requirements and good manufacturing practices.

• Experience working in a regulated environment (i.e. medical device pharmaceutical)

• APICS and/or CPM Certification Cost accounting understanding/experience

• Understanding of contracts (supply services non-disclosures etc.)

• Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt (or comparable training)

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
