Responsibilities include:
Procurement Management: Responsible for managing the procurement process for Medtronic including sourcing negotiating and purchasing goods and services from external suppliers
Planning and Forecasting: Develop and maintain a comprehensive purchasing plan based on market trends customer needs and production requirements
Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain positive relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products and services
Inventory Management: Monitor and analyze inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels and prevent shortages or excess stock
Cost Management: Implement cost-saving strategies and initiatives to improve overall procurement efficiency and reduce costs
Quality Control: Work closely with suppliers to ensure the products and services meet Medtronics quality standards and specifications
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments such as production logistics and sales to ensure timely delivery of products and efficient communication
Data Analysis: Utilize data and market trends to make informed purchasing decisions and identify areas for improvement in the procurement process
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws regulations and company policies related to procurement and sourcing activities
Performance Evaluation: Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement and maintain high-quality standards
Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other members of the procurement team to achieve departmental goals and objectives
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree required
Minimum of 4 years of purchasing experience or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
Nice to Have
Experience working with MRP/ERP systems (preference working in SAP or Blue Yonder)
Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel Word Access Outlook etc.) or similar software.
Strong data analysis data management and quantitative skills
Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) team orientation and ability to negotiate towards positive outcomes.
Strong organizational skills and good understanding of team dynamics.
Must be detail-oriented with ability to connect the detail to higher level goals.
Working knowledge of quality system requirements and good manufacturing practices.
Experience working in a regulated environment (i.e. medical device pharmaceutical)
APICS and/or CPM Certification Cost accounting understanding/experience
Understanding of contracts (supply services non-disclosures etc.)
Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt (or comparable training)
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
