Position Summary
The Permit Specialist plays a critical role in keeping Hydromax USAs field operations running smoothly. Working at the intersection of government relations permitting and field coordination you will build and maintain relationships with municipal jurisdictions securing the permits and approvals our crews need to do their important work safely and on schedule.
Reporting directly to the Field Operations Manager Support youll serve as a key liaison between our operations teams clients and municipal partners negotiating obstacles resolving jurisdictional issues and ensuring compliance with local requirements. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment and takes pride in owning and improving processes.
Primary Responsibilities
Strong understanding of permit application process and workflow to complete projects in a timely manner: secure permits on schedule track permit status and resolve issues preventing approval
Coordinate with Operations on priority of permitting needs and crew training
Negotiate with municipal jurisdictions to improve permitting terms
Report obstacles to the Field Operations Manager and participate in permitting strategy
Take the lead to resolve jurisdictional issues
Manage payment and tracking of business licenses in all jurisdictions
Track and manage municipal deliverables
Engage with third-party traffic safety vendors
Establish and maintain relationships with municipalities
Qualifications
Job Qualifications and Skills:
2-5 years of relevant experience
Bachelors degree preferred (or equivalent work experience)
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills (grammar & spelling) and exhibit exceptional customer service
Strong organizational skills and desire to own and improve internal processes
Ability to read and understand maps and aerial photos
Self-starter with good time management skills
Proven ability to provide excellent customer service and conflict mediation
Notary Public certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire
Pay:$60000 - $65000 per year dependening on experience
