We are now looking for a Recovery Motivator to join our Hastings servicean opportunity designed to support individuals with lived experience to take their first steps into employment while making a real difference in their community.
About the role
This is a role built on connection and shared understanding.
As a Recovery Motivator you will be a welcoming and consistent presence within the service supporting individuals affected by drug and/or alcohol use as well as their families carers and wider support networks.
You will:
- Act as a trusted and approachable point of contact within the service
- Support individuals to access the right services and support across East Sussex
- Work alongside staff and partners to strengthen community engagement
- Promote and support service user involvement and peer-led activities
- Help plan and facilitate recovery and wellbeing groups
- Contribute to a culture that is inclusive supportive and recovery-focused
This role is about using your experience to help others feel understood supported and able to move forward.
Location & contract
- Where: Hastings
- Hours: 15 hours per week
- Contract: Fixed Term until 31 March 2027
- Salary: Subject to review in line with the 2025/26 pay award
Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

You will be:
- Passionate about recovery and supporting others
- Compassionate empathetic and non-judgemental
- A confident communicator and able to build positive relationships
- Enthusiastic about community engagement and peer support
- Able to work flexibly and use your own initiative
Lived experience of drug and/or alcohol useeither personally or through supporting othersis welcomed and valued in this role.
