NRDC is seeking a Grants Manager to work with our Development team in one of our U.S.-based offices.
Position Summary
The Grants Manager will support the work of the Grants Management and Operations team which helps to bring in track and report on grant funding from the organizations institutional and principal-level donors. Reporting to the Director of Grants Management and Operations the Grants Manager willwork closely with colleagues across the organizationin partnership with the teams senior grants managersto support progress toward fundraising goals and successful grant stewardship. To that end they will secure data related to key elements of proposal budgets expense reports and other financial materials; help to track update and maintain institutional information commonly required for grant proposals and reporting; and lead coordination with NRDCs Finance and Accounting departments Program and Capacities teams as well as other Development Department units to complete donor facing financial reports and budgets.

Responsibilities

- Track donor deadlines and requestgrantfinancial reports fromProgram Finance Managers(PFM) ensuring they have all required templates.
- Drawing fromdata suppliedbyprograms and finance teamsdraftdonor-facingfinancial reports usingrequired fundertemplates; collaborate with the Director Senior Grants Managers and Senior Grant Writers to ensure thesefinancial pieces align well to thereportnarrative.
- Support analysis of variances between proposal budgetsand actual expenses; collaborate with PFMs and program teams to address discrepancies and escalate issuesasappropriate.
- Support in developing proposal budgets and budget narratives byreviewing funder requirements and gathering program inputs;collaborate with fundraisers program staffgrant writersand finance partners to ensure donor interestand NRDCpolicies and financial planning needs are aligned.
- Track no-cost extension requests and other grant modifications in partnership withcolleagues onthe Principal and Institutional GivingOperationsteam;partner with Donor Systems and Financecolleaguesto ensure theseare updated and processed accurately.
- Support the grants allocations process and flag delays for theappropriate stakeholders.
- Maintain clearorganizedand up-to-datedocumentation of budget materials reporting drafts financial correspondence and NRDCs audited statements 990s and other institutional financial information.
- Assistas neededwithentering and updatingdonorfacing financial information in Salesforce andSharePointensuring consistency across systems.
- Support the writing team in timely submission of donor material as needed.
- On a need basis support grants management of Major Gifts team which works collaboratively with the Principal Gifts team to meet NRDCs fundraising goals.

Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience
- Bachelorsdegreerequired.
- 2-4yearsexperience ingrants budgetmanagementandfinancial reporting.
Skills Abilities Competencies
- Exceptional skills working with financial data and conducting budget analysis in MS Excel.
- Strong analytical skills anddemonstratedability to develop proposals reports and other materials including budgets and financial reports.
- Strong project management skills including the ability to prioritize multiple streams of work to meet competing deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate across the organization andmaintainstrong relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Effective and unflappable in a fast-paced sometimes high-pressure environment; eager to contribute to the collaborative dynamic of the team and Development department.
- Detail-oriented and organized with strong follow-through.
